Sangoma Launches Contest for Asian Open Source Developers

Developers and Asterisk (News - Alert) enthusiasts in Asia will be gathering for AsterConference 2008 in Kuala Lumpur, on September 10–11, 2008. Astercon is a regional conference dedicated to the increasingly popular Asterisk, the open source telecommunication platform that has taken the world by storm.

The event will take place at the Crown Princess Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.

In a run-up to the event, Sangoma is launching a contest, calling upon the growing developer community in Asia to submit a 500-word essay explaining why they’ve made the switch to Sangoma’s cards.

The contest is open to individuals in the following countries: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

To participate, developers from these nations need to submit a 500 words (or less) essay, explaining why and how they have upgraded from “old” hardware to Sangoma hardware in their systems. Entries will be judged on creativity.

Entries should include the Subject line: AsterConference 2008 Contest Entry.

The grand prize is an all-expense paid trip to AsterConference 2008 in Kuala Lumpur, and Sangoma will also throw in some spending money too!

10 other winners will get full conference passes to attend AsterConference 2008 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

The contest closes August 8, 2008.

Please note: The odds of winning will depend on the number of entries received. Individuals must be the age of majority; 18 years or older to enter. Only one entry per person is allowed. If multiple entries are made by a single individual, this will void his/her entry in the contest. The deadline for entries will be August 8, 2008 (12:00 PM EST). The winners will be notified via email by August 15, 2008. Unfortunately, no cash equivalent will be substituted for the trip or conference pass if the winner forfeits the prize. A limit of $2,500.00 will be applied to the all expense trip. Certain restrictions apply. Sangoma reserves the right to apply these terms and conditions.
