TPL Group enterprise, Alliacense, the company which executes design and implementation of intellectual property licensing programs, today announced that MosChip, a fabless semiconductor company, will be using TruVNS Technology to develop better offerings and innovative products.
The license agreement also includes exclusive rights to secure bulk encryption implementations.
The TPL Group develops and commercializes proprietary product technology through its Intellasys and Alliacense business units.
Initially developed for NTSC (Analog Television standard developed in the US in 1953 by the National Television System Committee) and PAL (a color encoding system used in broadcast television systems) and now extended to support HD, the TruVNS Technology was developed by Intellasys to enable the industry-standard bulk encryption for 1394-compliant connectivity and storage management solutions.
"The TruVNS SoC solution has achieved widespread adoption, and further commercialization through our relationship with MosChip will ensure TruVNS retains its leadership position," said Nick Antonopoulos, senior vice president of business development for The TPL Group.
Antonopoulos also mentioned that the group is very proud that TruVNS Technology will play a critical role in enabling the innovative products that MosChip brings to market.
MosChip is holding a very strong position in the I/O connectivity market and this agreement has further expanded the company’s reach in entering the Audio Video connectivity segment, targeting consumer appliances.
MosChip will be combining TruVNS products and technology with MosChip's products to enable better offering to the consumer electronics, professional A/V equipment, cable and satellite set-top box, and media PC manufacturers.
"Based on feedback from customers in Japan, Europe and Asia, we see a huge potential market for TruVNS Technology worldwide," said Dayakar Reddy, managing director of MosChip.
Reddy commented that the company is very excited with this acquisition as it enables new product lines for entry into consumer entertainment markets.
