Nokia (News - Alert) has announced its business plans stream “Mobile Rules!” competition will close in less than two weeks. Interested participants are invited to submit their business plan as soon as possible by visit the competition Web site, www.mobilerules.org.

 

Launched this summer by Nokia, the Mobile Rules! Competition had the backing of numerous high-profile sponsors, having been designed to promote innovative ideas among developers and entrepreneurs working in the mobile space.

 

The competition is essentially divided into two tracks. The first track is aimed at entrepreneurs, small businesses, start-ups, academic institutions, and individuals. The ideas, if selected, will be utilized in the mobile market. The contest formally closes on the 16th of November, 2007.

 

The second track has been created for qualified developers who work on mobile applications for Nokia platforms in the following four categories: Multiplayer and connected games, Multimedia, Enterprise, and Infotainment. The contest for the second track will close on 25th January.

 

The winners from both streams will be officially announced at a ceremony in San Jose on March 21, 2008.

 

“The number and standard of entries in this, the second year of the competition, has been very high and we encourage any individual or organization wishing to participate to submit an entry as soon as possible,” Vesa Luiro, Director, Communication Solutions with Nokia, was quoted as saying in the report.

 

The grand prize for the applicant coming up with the winning business plan is a business contract with Nokia, and could also include other competition sponsors as well. An alternate prize is $20,000 and the right to use the title ‘Mobile Ruler! 08.’
