WAVE (News - Alert) software offers the unique ability to incorporate push-to-talk (PTT) radios and other group communication systems into an enterprise unified communications environment.
Large enterprises traditionally use PTT radio systems for communication in production and warehousing, transportation and security. Up to this point, there has not been a solution to integrate these systems into the growing numbers and types of unified communications platforms being deployed throughout the world.
WAVE 4.0 is designed to break down that barrier with seamless integration into Microsoft’s Unified Communications (UC) environment and Nortel’s (News - Alert) IP telephony systems. This solution makes it easy to include employees with radios into Microsoft UC environments by clicking a button on a desktop application.
This process eliminates the expense of deploying hardware-based radio dispatch equipment and increases productivity by maximizing the reach of unified communications within an enterprise.
The WAVE 4.0 solution also unlocks the full potential of the Twisted Pair Solutions Developer community, adding support for the Linux operating system to complement the existing Windows audio processing engine.

A full set of .NET (News - Alert) APIs is also now available as part of the WAVE Software Development Kit (SDK), providing Solution Development partners the flexibility to develop client applications using either .NET or Java.
Enhanced features in WAVE 4.0 include standards-based IP telephony; tighter integration with Microsoft environments; increased support for Nortel IP telephony; mobile device support; broader gateway support; enhanced network management tools; and extended SDK support for developers.
“With this release, we are providing unprecedented flexibility and tools to our partners and their customers,” said Tom Guthrie, president and CEO at Twisted Pair Solutions.
“In addition to the rich radio integration capabilities already provided by WAVE, now our partners have a choice in development and operating system environments,” added Guthrie.
“WAVE 4.0 supports tight integration with the unified communications products offered by Microsoft and Nortel, providing for extended access from OCS, SharePoint, and Nortel IP PBX
platforms to virtually any group communications system,” Guthrie said.
“Most importantly, enterprises can reap the operational benefits of integrating PTT radios with existing communications systems while leveraging the rich functionality and unified interfaces of their core enterprise technologies,” Guthrie explained.
Organizations throughout the global economy are recognizing the benefits of unified communications technology solutions and the demand for products such as the WAVE 4.0 continues to grow.
Twisted Pair has done well to tap into the opportunities that abound when a solution can maximize the value of Microsoft and Nortel solutions. With this approach, the company ensures rapid acceptance and adoption throughout the global industry.
