Open Source Telephony Solutions Provider Sangoma Teams with XmarteK to Expand its Presence in Latin America
By Patrick Barnard TMCnet Contributing Editor
Leading telephony board maker Sangoma Technologies (News - Alert) is reportedly partnering with XmarteK to increase distribution of its products throughout Latin America.
Based in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., XmarteK is a leading integrator and consulting firm which designs, implements, maintains and services advanced IP
Telephony systems, including call center systems. This includes installation and support for Asterisk (News - Alert)-based IP PBXs. The company has a focus on Latin America.
The partnership means Sangoma’s full line of products is now available in Mexico, Peru, Colombia, Argentina, Chile, Ecuador, Venezuela, Central America and the Caribbean.
Juan Pablo Pazos, founder and Chairman of the Board at XmarteK, said he is pleased to be partnering with Sangoma because ofd the reliability of its products.
“When you are dealing with mission critical applications you need to carry a product line that is robust, and will not generate support tickets from resellers and our installed base,” he said in a press release. “Sangoma’s PCI cards are regarded as the most reliable in the industry.”
Sangoma President and CEO David Mandelstam (News - Alert) said Sangoma “will be supporting XmarteK with road shows in various Latin American countries where the objective will be to build a strong customer base that will help us to effectively serve the Latin American market.”
Sangoma, which has been focusing on numerous overseas markets as of late, made news on TMCnet in January when it announced that it was partnering with PeopleTech to expand distribution of its telephony and data cards throughout India. This represents the company’s first distribution deal in that country. PeopleTech is a provider of open source technology services and solutions. Through this partnership, PeopleTech is expected to provide a sales channel and first line of support for Sangoma’s Indian customers. The deal is an integral part of Sangoma’s strategy to offer customers open source voice and data solutions in telecommunications and information technology investment territories of India- including Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bhutan.
